Art Work created by me - In the style of Julian Opie

I really like the work of Julian Opie and have decided to use his style to creat my own art work. Also, instead of using just fruit, I wanted to make it a lot more interesting by including people eating fruit. I think it gives it so much more character, rather than just a simple drawing of an apple.

To create the images, I saved images from google I liked, opened them in photoshop, created a new layer and then traced the images using the brush tool. After the simple outline was done, I used the eyedropper tool on the original images to get the correct colours, and then used the paintbucket tool to fill the image with colour. I used the brush tool again to create a small amount of detail to add a little life to my art work.
I really enjoy working in this style and plan to do a few more, but instead of using images found on google, I'll take some of my own photographs and use those instead; to add a personal feel.

Using the pen tool in Photoshop

First of all I went to google to find a produce related image

I then used the pen tool to create a vector drawing. I traced the outline of the image and made sure all the lines were connected so it would be easy to use the paint bucket tool to fill in the shape.

Then, using the paint bucket tool I coloured the strawberry in red, I used various layers and used the pen tool again to trace the leaves, I coloured them all in different shades, but still stuck to a simple design.
Here is my final image! I added text to make the image slightly less plain and more interesting. After looking at Julian Opie's work, I decided I loved the look of bold colours and little detail, so this is the style I was ging for. I'm really pleased with my final piece.
