Andrew Bannecker Style!
We've just begun working in the style of Andrew Bannecker, I absolutely adore his work so I'm really really enjoying this project. I'm much more comfortable with Illustrator now I've had lots of practice, and I've already completed two pieces I'm really happy with. We're still in the theme of produce, but now focusing on fish and sealife creatures!
Here are my two completed images I've made so far :)

Today I felt like using a completely different techinque! I've been using the pen tool in Illustrator |
After this, I filled the shape in with yellow to create a bold, simple shape that I thought looked very effective. |
I then created these two images, the left image I added a little more colour to define and add detail to the image, and used a coloured background, much like a Julian Opie piece. On the right I worked more in the style of Michael Craig Martin, as it's bolder, but using darker colours. I really like how they have turned out!

Art Work created by me - In the style of Julian Opie
I really like the work of Julian Opie and have decided to use his style to creat my own art work. Also, instead of using just fruit, I wanted to make it a lot more interesting by including people eating fruit. I think it gives it so much more character, rather than just a simple drawing of an apple.
To create the images, I saved images from google I liked, opened them in photoshop, created a new layer and then traced the images using the brush tool. After the simple outline was done, I used the eyedropper tool on the original images to get the correct colours, and then used the paintbucket tool to fill the image with colour. I used the brush tool again to create a small amount of detail to add a little life to my art work.
I really enjoy working in this style and plan to do a few more, but instead of using images found on google, I'll take some of my own photographs and use those instead; to add a personal feel.
Using the pen tool in Photoshop
First of all I went to google to find a produce related image |
